The Better Bolts Titanium SRAM DUB Crank Arm Bolt and Cover is a titanium replacement for the stock M18/M30 self-extracting crank arm bolt on SRAM DUB cranksets. It fits non-e-bike SRAM DUB road, gravel and mountain cranks that use the M18/M30 bolt, including Red, Force, Rival, Eagle 90 and XX, XX SL, X0 and GX Eagle Transmission.

Why upgrade to titanium

Anyone who has serviced a SRAM DUB crank knows the struggle: the stock aluminum crank bolt is tightened to 52 N·m and tends to bind, making it hard to remove. Many mechanics started swapping in the heavier steel bolt from lower-end SRAM models to get around it.

Titanium solves the problem without the weight penalty of steel. Its strength and precision-machined threads keep the bolt from binding, so your crank stays easy to service.

  • Strong: Grade 5 (6Al-4V) titanium, built to handle full crank torque.
  • No binding: precision-machined threads make removal easier than with the stock aluminum bolt.
  • Lighter than steel: the serviceability of a steel bolt without the extra weight.
  • Direct replacement: uses the same 8 mm hex tool and installs like the original. The titanium cover replaces SRAM's proprietary cover and works as the self-extractor, using a 10 mm hex.

How to check your crank

  1. Find the model code (for example FC-RIV-E1) on the crank arm, the box or SRAM's website, and match it to the table above.
  2. Look for "DUB" printed on the crank arm or bottom bracket cups.
  3. Check the non-drive arm for a self-extracting cap with an 8 mm hex bolt in the center.

Installation

Watch our in-depth YouTube installation video for step-by-step instructions.

  1. Tighten the 8 mm M18 crank bolt (right-hand thread) to 52 N·m.
  2. Then tighten the 10 mm M30 cover (left-hand thread) to 14 N·m.

FAQ

Which SRAM cranks does this titanium DUB bolt fit?

It fits non-e-bike SRAM DUB cranksets that use the M18/M30 self-extracting bolt, including SRAM Red, Force, Rival, Eagle 90 Transmission, and XX, XX SL, X0 and GX Eagle Transmission. Check the fitment table for your crank's model code.

Does it fit SRAM e-bike cranks?

No. E-bike cranksets, including SRAM Eagle Powertrain and EX1, are not compatible.

Does it fit SRAM Eagle 70?

No. SRAM Eagle 70 uses an M15/M30 bolt and extractor. This kit uses M18/M30 and is not compatible.

What comes in the kit?

A titanium M18 crank arm bolt, a titanium M30 reverse-thread cover, a stainless steel washer and Vibra-Tite 122 oil-tolerant threadlocker.

How do I know if my crank uses an M18/M30 bolt?

Match your crank's model code to the fitment table. If your crank's original SRAM bolt kit is 11.6118.060.000, 11.6118.060.001, 11.6118.061.000, 11.6118.065.000, 11.6118.066.000, 11.6118.073.000, 11.6118.073.001, 11.6118.073.002 or 11.6118.073.005, this kit fits.

What torque should I use?

Tighten the 8 mm crank bolt (right-hand thread) to 52 N·m first. Then tighten the 10 mm cover (left-hand thread) to 14 N·m.
